New Endowment for Research!!!

On June 12th the HTA board approved the creation of a new endowment for research as well as changes to the existing endowment administered by The Foundation for Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

These changes allow HTA to better utilize and distribute the funds that are managed by the Foundation while maintaining the stability of the endowments. The stability of the endowments allows HTA to continue our commitment to the social service department at BJH in helping pre and post transplant patients in need, now and in the future.

The New fund for heart transplant related research provides much needed research money for Dr. Ewald and his research team. HTA has made a minimum commitment of $ 75,000 over a five year period. The HTA board typically approves a larger gift than $25,000 each year, so we envision a substantially higher amount will be available for Dr Ewald’s as our fundraising efforts continue to improve.

HTA’s ability to create and fund the endowments is due to the hard work, fundraisers, donations and vision of the HTA board and its members. During the last 27 years HTA has provided help for hundreds of patients and their families who are in need of financial assistance, your generosity, and participation has made is possible for HTA to now be in position to help with this much needed research.

  • The mission of the Heart Transplant Association of St. Louis is to provide emotional, educational, and financial support to pre- and post-heart transplant patients and their families.
